SRHE Networks
The Society hosts special interest networks, providing a space for events and meetings to discuss research issues, exchange ideas, and review current thinking and new developments in various areas of the Higher Education sector – thematic areas currently covered are: academic practice; the digital university; employability; EDI; HE policy; international research and researchers; learning, teaching and assessment; the multilingual university; and student access and experience.
All networks also serve to support newer and early-career researchers, and provide a valuable opportunity for all in terms of networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration. There are also two networks specifically dedicated to the development of newer researchers and the discussion of postgraduate issues.
Each network is overseen by a small group of network convenors, volunteers who are essential to their running. Individual convenors normally take responsibility for the organisation and promotion of one event per year and also assist with the review and moderation of conference submissions.
Network meetings are free to members; non members will be charged an event fee. We would like to encourage SRHE members to participate and get in touch with network convenors to signal their interest and support.
Please note that you do not need to be a Network Convenor to propose an event or workshop – the SRHE team is always happy to hear your ideas and proposals. If you are interested in running a session with us but are not sure where to begin, please complete as much detail as you can on our events and workshops proposal form (click here to open: Proposal form – SRHE events & workshops) and e-mail it to Dr Rihana Suliman (rihana.suliman@srhe.ac.uk).
Click on the Networks below to find out more about their work.
Network Administration Guidance
In order for network activity to reflect members’ evolving interests and ongoing developments in Higher Education Research, we encourage the expression of new ideas and participation in our networks. For anyone wishing to explore proposing a new network, or to become involved as a network convenor/convenor team for an existing network please refer to the following:
All such proposals will be considered by the Research and Development committee who will make recommendations to Council. Any questions should be directed to Dr Rihana Suliman in the first instance.
