Overview of fundamental statistical concepts

The ability to evaluate published research and results is a key skill for anyone involved in reading and/or undertaking research. Within this course we discuss the importance of defining a meaningful research question and acknowledge and explain the significance of the following topics:


  • Statistical inference
  • Confidence intervals
  • Significance testing
  • p-value
  • Parametric and non-parametric tests
