Students as Partners in Learning, Teaching and Assessment

Friday, 04 October 2019

The Learning, Teaching and Assessment Network was formed in Spring 2019, its conveners being Patrick Baughan (Advance HE), Ian Kinchin and Karen Gravett (University of Surrey) and Namrata Rao (Liverpool Hope University).

Following its formation, we are now delighted to announce a Launch Event for the Network. The day will focus on the rapidly developing field of student-staff partnerships. It will feature introductions by Helen Perkins (Director of SRHE) and the aforementioned conveners, and a keynote address from Dr Jenny Marie, discussing student partnership at UCL, through the latter’s innovative ChangeMakers initiative.

This will be followed by discussions of two student-staff partnership case studies, drawing on experiences from the University of Surrey and Edinburgh Napier University.

Lastly, a plenary will provide the opportunity to discuss attendees’ own experiences of partnership, as well as give delegates the opportunity to identify areas that they would like the Network to address in its future events and publications – we intend to explore and address a wide range of issues in learning and teaching policy and practice.

Lunch and networking time will be provided and it is intended that the event also provides an opportunity to meet and form collaborations with other colleagues. Further details will be added to the SRHE website closer to the date.
