Theory, methods and practice in international comparative research in the social and human sciences

Thursday, 04 November 2010

Linda Hantrais, Emerita Professor, Loughborough University, addressed over 25 delegates on issues related to comparative research. The event reviewed the international contexts in which comparisons are undertaken and in which the findings are used; the reasons why researchers undertake comparative work; and the range of approaches they adopt in addressing the many issues that arise in a complicated process but one that offers rewards to who research with an international dimension. The SRHE was pleased to welcome two international visitors to this event, including Dr Jani Ursin, the convenor of the European Educational Research Association’s higher education network (network 22).
