The conference programme will include a rich and diverse range of contributions: Peer-reviewed paper presentations, invited symposia, roundtables; poster sessions, and Invited panel question and answer discussions on topics such as getting published in higher education journals, building and sustaining research capacity and the future structuring of research funding. A linked one-day conference for postgraduate students and newer researchers in higher education to be held at the University of Sussex on Monday 10 December. Networking with colleagues is an integral part of the SRHE conference and social events are a good opportunity for participants to meet and converse in a relaxed atmosphere. This year, there will be two events. Complimentary Welcome Reception on Tuesday, 11 December at the University of Brighton Art Gallery. This is open to all participants at the Conference and will include drinks, snacks and a hot fork buffet. Conference dinner will be held on Wednesday the 12 December at the Thistle Hotel. There will be a pre-dinner drinks reception sponsored by Routledge/Taylor and Francis and the cost for the dinner of £33.00 includes a 3 course menu and wine. Welcome Reception Welcome reception open to all Conference participants at the University of Brighton Gallery and theatre in Grand Parade, a short walk from the main conference venue and hotels. The Welcome reception starts at 7.00pm and finishes at 10.00pm. Drinks and canapés will be served on arrival. A light supper will be served at 8.00pm. This will be followed at 8.45 pm by a performance in the Sallis Benny Theatre which adjoins the Welcome reception venue, by FAAB. The FAAB performance is entitled: “The X-Citation Factor: Reshaping Higher Education in Performative Times”, and features a special guest appearance by Sue Clegg.    Find out more about FAAB    View Programme At A Glance    Book your sessions at the Conference Drinks reception sponsored by Routledge/ Taylor and Francis - 6.30pm Prior to the Conference dinner there will be a drinks reception sponsored by Routledge/ Taylor and Francis from 6.00pm to 7.30pm in the Thistle Hotel Atrium. This reception is open to all conference delegates and will feature a “meet and greet” opportunity for all Conference delegates to view the work of the SRHE Networks in the Library Gallery at the Thistle Hotel, meet the individual network convenors and sign up for events in 2008.   Top
